Gingerbread
Houses, people, or just the best-smelling cookie of the year.
Three tips before you start
- For construction, roll on the pan and trim AFTER baking while still warm — walls come out true.
- Royal icing glue: stiff peaks, and let each joint set 20 minutes before the roof goes on.
- For eating, pull them two minutes early; gingerbread hardens as it cools.
