The short version: we keep what an order needs, we never see a payment, we never sell your details, and one email deletes you.

What we collect, and why

An account is a name, an email address and, if you give it, a phone number — the things a baker needs to confirm your order and hand it to the right person. Orders keep what you put on them: the items, the collection day, any allergies or notes you wrote. Messages you exchange with a baker stay attached to the order they are about.

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from them — nothing else — and we use it only to sign you in.

What we never have

Payment details. Bakeverly does not process payments, so there is no card number, bank account or payment history here to lose. You pay the baker directly, and how you do that is between the two of you.

A baker’s street address is never shown publicly — a customer sees it only on an order they have actually placed.

Who sees what

A baker sees the details on orders placed with her shop: your name, contact details, and what you ordered — the same things a bakery counter would know. She does not see your orders with other bakers. Bakers never see each other’s customers, sales or messages; that separation is enforced in the database itself, not by policy.

The services that help us run

Email is delivered by Resend. Photos are stored with Vercel, which also hosts the site. Bakers who buy a paid plan are billed through Stripe — Stripe holds their billing details, we never do. We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand how the site is used, as aggregate numbers, not to follow you around the internet.

Each of these processes data on our behalf and none of them may use it for anything else. We do not sell, rent, or trade anyone’s information — there is no version of this business where your email address is the product.

Cookies

One cookie signs you in and remembers your basket. Analytics set their own, which measure visits. There is no advertising and no cross-site tracking here.

Email is consent-based

Ordering gets you emails about that order — confirmation, changes, reminders — because the order does not work without them. Marketing email is separate and off by default: nobody is added to a list for typing their address into a form, and every marketing email we would ever send has an unsubscribe that works on the first click.

Deleting your data

Email us and we delete your account and the personal details on it. A baker who closes her shop has it retained for 30 days in case she changes her mind, then removed. Records a baker is legally required to keep about her own sales are hers, in her export, before that.
