How ranking works
Every signal and its exact weight, in the open. The ranking is built from things a baker controls, so “why am I not showing up” always has an answer — and it is recomputed every night.
Distance
35/100You cannot collect bread from 200 miles away. When you search a town, its kitchens come first — nothing paid can override this. Today distance means your town; as shops add map locations it becomes miles.
Availability
25/100Open collection days soon. A shop you cannot order from is not a result you wanted.
Completeness
15/100Photographs on the menu, a story on the About page, allergens answered on every item, hours set. All things any baker can fix in an afternoon.
Quality
10/100Rating weighted by how many reviews stand behind it. A shop with no reviews yet sits at a neutral floor — unproven, never buried. Every review here comes from a collected order.
Activity
5/100Recent orders and recent sign-ins. A kitchen that is actually baking ranks above one that went quiet.
Plan
10/100Pro ranks above Free; Ultimate adds featured placement, always labelled as such. Deliberately the smallest lever: a paid shop two towns over must never beat a free one down the road, and with these weights it arithmetically cannot.
New shops get 30 days of a fair chance — a boost of 8 points while they gather their first reviews. Without it, nobody new is ever discovered.
Nothing here can be bought past the top two signals. The paid lift is 10 points; distance and availability together are 60. A shop that is far away or closed cannot pay its way above one that is near and open.
Bakers: every signal above is visible in your own dashboard, and if something looks wrong, write to us — the nightly score is stored with its full working, so we can tell you exactly why you rank where you do.
